carnival of the animals ballet mini-session | beginner level
Join EBA instructors for an extra-special classical ballet MINI-SESSION for your dancer-in-training this summer!
designed for ages 6-8 current EBA students and kiddos new to ballet are all welcome to attend!
July 14,15,16 | Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday | 4:50-5:40pm each day
Learn about the amazing classical music score Carnival of the Animals by composer Camille Saint-Saens making the animal characters come to life through creative ballet dancing, inspired by the original ballet production performed by professional companies around the globe!
Created as an opportunity for students to practice their ballet technique from class time, create their own choreography, experience tactile immersion in classical music, and enjoy animal-themed coloring pages, all while wearing their favorite animal or ballet inspired costume and playing with a range of colorful props for dancing!
Students are encouraged to wear ballet slippers AND their favorite creative play or ballet costume from home, whether from a prior ballet performance or their halloween/dress-up costume collection! Hair is encouraged to be secured back in a ponytail or headband for the duration of this activity since we will be actively dancing similar to classes, to help keep everyone free of tripping and falling as much as possible.
Your student will leave the class week with completed coloring pages in hand, and additional coloring pages to enjoy at home, an animal themed sticker, and the joyful memories of twirling, leaping, and creating beautiful ballet dancing all together.
This activity is a drop-off experience, so feel free to get your kiddo settled at the studio room at the community center and then utilize the time for “mommy me-time” with an afternoon walk at Cannon Park, or running errands, etc!
LIMITED space is available for this special activity - early registration is encouraged to secure a spot!
